There isn't a great deal more I can say about the Obamacare
meltdown, except that it is inexorably progressing.
I note that one of the sources I have used for biographies on my
knowledge base makes a great deal of John F. Kennedy. Apparently in
the eyes of some, his assassination elevated him to martyrdom. Yech.
I don't think he was all that much of a saint, either personally or
politically.

Every day, there is more bad news indicating that ObamaCare is a
terrible law, one that would be repealed if it were a well-
intentioned mistake. A mistake it may be, but the Democratic
leadership is so convinced of its own virtuous intentions and
moral superiority that it can ignore such minor considerations as
the fact that it had to lie to get the act passed in the first
place, it can pass and keep it in place without Republican help
or input, that the act is technically, economically, and
actuarially unsound to the point that those whose insurance is
being cancelled outnumber those who are being enrolled by at
least ten to one, and that its poisonous unpopularity is
beginning to threaten the whole progressive liberal agenda and
the slender majority the Democratic party now enjoys.
5 And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting
that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges,
belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me.
6 Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my
church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law
of the land;
7 And as pertaining to law of man, whatsoever is more or less
than this, cometh of evil.
8 I, the Lord God, make you free, therefore ye are free indeed;
and the law also maketh you free.
9 Nevertheless, when the wicked rule the people mourn.
10 Wherefore, honest men and wise men should be sought for
diligently, and good men and wise men ye should observe to
uphold; otherwise whatsoever is less than these cometh of evil.
(Doctrine and Covenants 98:5-10)
The United States government is in a state similar to that
described at one point in the Book of Mormon:
Condemning the righteous because of their righteousness; letting
the guilty and the wicked go unpunished because of their money;
and moreover to be held in office at the head of government, to
rule and do according to their wills, that they might get gain
and glory of the world, and, moreover, that they might the more
easily commit adultery, and steal, and kill, and do according to
their own wills—
Helaman 7:5
There is little enough that I can do about this, except write
about it, and raise my voice in protest.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius 'feels
like' healthcare.gov is safe from hackers and data thieves.
"Trust your feelings" is not recommended managerial technique for
computer systems technology.
Yesterday she attended a publicity event for Healthcare.gov. It
crashed in front of her. "It says 'I’m sorry but the system is
temporarily down.' ” said a reporter.
“Uh oh,” Sebelius responded.
A facilitator commented. "That's OK, it'll come back. That
happens every day!". Ba-dum-bump.
I must admit that there has been progress on making the front end
of the site, the user interface, working better. Now to start on
the security problems and the payment system. It was reported
that a whole two people managed to successfully sign up..that is,
select a plan...at the event.
In the meantime, Chris Tarango, a facilitator who is with a group
attemting to get people to sign up for Obamacare, was caught on
tape agreeing to give out personal information of enrollees for
political purposes. And the advice which the administration is
giving to bypass the healthcare.gov site and go directly to
ensurers conflicts with the law which states that a person must
use the exchanges in order to be eligible for the subsidies which
are supposed to reduce cost. And, there is a deadline of Dec 15
in order to enroll and get covered by January 1, to avoid tax
penalties. We haven't begun to hear from the people who thought
they had coverage, only to find out they don't, or that their
doctors aren't in the network. There is an endless line of
headaches for proponents of ACA in the foreseeable future.
The ACA is the Democrat's white elephant..too sacred to dispose
of, too expensive to keep.

ObamaCare is going to be an inexhaustible source of bad news: the
gift that keeps on giving. The latest is the news that at least
some 30% of the total site hasn't even been built yet..including
the ability to accept payments. No wonder the administration
decided to count those who had selected a plan in the shopping
cart as enrollees instead of those who had actually paid, which
is the usal measure. Otherwise, they would have had no enrollees
at all. That pretty much kills the chances that healthcare.gov
will be fully functional..or even 80% functional by December 1.
Added to this is the news that security problems haven't even
been addressed yet, to the extent that security experts are
recommending that people not use the site. And the cancellation
of plans offered by employers and not only individuals is already
beginning.
Healthcare.gov is not as bad as you think it is. It's worse.

The responses of leading Democrats to the charges that they lied
about ObamaCare are mindboggling.
1) "If we had told the truth, we couldn't have passed the
legislation." Anyone using that one is not only confessing to
dishonesty but to manipulating constituents rather than
representing them. That representative should be summarily
evicted from office.
2) "The new plans are better than the old, which were junk".
Anyone using that one is either lying or delusional. Most of the
millions of people whose insurance has been cancelled claimed
otherwise.
3) "We didn't know it would be like this". Anyone using that one
is either lying or irresponsibly negligent. It was specifically
their job to know, and many of them, especially those in the
leadership, did know (as per #1 above).
And that's not even mentioning the insult to the voters
displayed by layering transparent lie on transparent lie, denying
the obvious, or emitting similar fatuous nonsense. When I read
some comments from some Democratic representatives, I wonder if
they think the voters are as stupid as they are.
