I've been rethinking my approach to history of the past year, again. I've adopted a flatter approach based on having pictures of nations gradually emerging from a collection of undistinguished events. January has already been divided up somewhat, so I'm working with February. The political furor in Wisconsin, the Irish general election, and the earthquake in New Zealand begin to stand out. Future passes through the events will produce more that stand out, and more details about them.

I am still interested in adding more nations, but I'm getting down to very small ones, and I feel a need for better interconnections among the ones I do have in order to identify subdivisions (for instance, I need to subdivide the Balkan peoples, but I need that section linked to other large nations before I can do this well.  I have been making progress, but no specific report.

I am also working on the interconnection of elements of social structure and change: As I go deeper into this, examples may begin to emerge.  I have also begun a more detailed examination of Christianity, and connection of its major branches to peoples of the world. I have been wanting to get to this for some time, and it's finally about time.  I was taking note of the attacks on Coptic churches in Egypt, and wondering where the Copts fit into the major branches of Christianity. It appears that they are grouped mostly with the Orthodox.
